Leaders in Training

The Leaders in Training (LIT) program at Camp M.O.E. is designed for teens aged 15 or entering 10th grade who are ready to take their first steps toward becoming camp leaders. This immersive program focuses on developing the next generation of Camp M.O.E. staff while equipping participants with essential life skills. LITs commit to a full summer, gaining hands-on experience in leadership, group dynamics, and responsibility. Through training, observation, and active participation in camp activities, LITs learn how to plan programs, manage groups, and address camper challenges, all while fostering a sense of confidence and self-awareness.

This transformative experience also includes opportunities to develop a strong work ethic through behind-the-scenes tasks such as maintaining camp spaces and shadowing counselors and administrative staff. LITs attend at least one day of staff training, where they set expectations, build group synergy, and prepare for their roles—all while having fun and embracing the team spirit. Upon completing the program, LITs are eligible to apply as Junior Counselors the following summer, starting their journey as paid staff at Camp M.O.E. This program not only shapes capable camp leaders but also prepares teens for success beyond high school.

Program Highlights:

  • Leadership Development: Build confidence, self-awareness, and group management skills through hands-on experiences.
